On this day in 1879 Margaret Sanger was born. Sanger advocated the then radical concept that women should be able to make choices about their reproductive health. She founded the organization that went on to become Planned Parenthood. In 1919 in a visit to Denver she met with the group that would become the U.S.'s second oldest Planned Parenthood affiliate, Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains.
